Here Is What You Need to Know


Location? Westhill Church of Christ 3400 W. Hwy 22 Corsicana, TX 75110


Where to go? 

When coming to Westhill Church of Christ (3400 W. HWY. 22, Corsicana, TX 75110) please enter from Hwy 22 on the east side or the right entrance.  This will bring you to the east side of the building. Please drive towards the back side of the building and pull under the awning at the back of the building for unloading.  There will be double doors.  It is here that you will check in.


When? Monday, July 22- Wednesday , July 24, 2024     (Check in begins Monday @ 2:30)

 

Who? Geared for 6th - 12th grades


Cost? $20 per person (Non-Westhill member) 

(You can bring cash or a check upon arrival.  Checks  payable to "Westhill Church of Christ.") 

                    

Theme: 41


Theme Concept:  In the Bible, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. Day 41 came and the rain stopped.   Moses committed murder & hid in the desert for 40 years. 41 came, and God called him to help rescue Israel. Moses went up on the mountain for 40 days. On day 41, he received the Ten Commandments.  The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Year 41, they walked into the Promised Land. Goliath taunted Israel for 40 days. Day 41 came, and David slew him. Jonah preached a message of repentance to Nineveh that destruction would come in 40 days. On day 41, God stopped His plan to destroy them. Jesus fasted and was tempted for 40 days. Day 41, and the devil fled. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples for 40 days. On day 41, He ascended into Heaven. All this to say...don’t quit. The rain will stop, the giant will fall, and you will enter your “promised land.” Don't give up at 40.  41 is coming.

 

What to expect: 

You will find the schedule below.  We want to have a great time, grow in God's word, and develop our leadership.  We will have lessons that will challenge us to be better and break out classes that will work on specific leadership skills in a worship setting such as praying, reading scripture, leading singing, and presenting a devotional.  

  • We expect everyone to be involved with each activity we do.  
  • We expect during class & break out times to approach with a sense of importance and reflect that in our dress by dressing in khaki shorts or jeans with a polo shirt or better each time. 
  • We expect a godly character to be displayed. 
  • We expect each camper to have a great time and develop Christian friendships.
  • We expect each person to leave better than they came. 

What to Bring?

  • Bible! Don’t come without it.
  • DRESS ATTIRE
  •         Dress for Class & Breakout Sessions  - Jeans or khaki shorts  & polo or better; 
  •         Dress for Fun Outings – shirts with sleeves &  shorts (dollar bill above the knee)
  •         Dress for Wednesday PM - Jeans or slacks & Shirt with buttons. 
  •         Other clothes to pack :
  •                    Clothes to play games at the building, ie. basketball, etc. 
  •                    Clothes for service project (May include mowing or similar)
  • Swim trunks (plan on swimming)
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc)
  • Pillow, blanket, and/or sleeping bag.  We have a cot or an air mattress you can sleep on. (You are welcome to bring your own if you wish. We will be sleeping at Westhill in classrooms)
  • Towel (x2) (There are showers at the building) 
  • Christian attitudes
  • You might want to bring: board games, etc.
  • Cell phones are allowed but will be regulated so that everyone is participating in each event.

7:00pm - Lesson 2 "Don't Quit When God Presents Opportunity to Serve" 

7:30 pm – Breakout Groups

8:15 pm – Evening Devo

8:30pm – Free Time

11:00 pm – Lights Out

 

Tuesday, July 23

8:30 am – Devo & Breakfast (Don't Quit on the Promises) 

9:00 am - Lesson 3 - (Don't Quit in the Midst of War) 

9:30 - Breakout Groups

10:15 am - Break

10:30 am – Lesson 4 ("Don't Quit Preaching Salvation")

11:15 am – Breakout Groups

12:00 pm – Lunch  

1:00 - 2:00 pm – Group Work (Structure a Devo) 

2:30-6:00 pm – Group Activity & Dinner

7:15 pm – Devo - "Dont Quit & Give into Temptation" 

7:45 – Practice Line Up

8:15 - Free Time

11:00 pm – Lights Out

 

Wednesday, July 26

8:30 am – Devo & Breakfast ("Don't Quit Fellowshipping")

9:00 am - Service Project

12:00 pm - Lunch

1:00- 3:00 - Group Activity (Swimming)

3:00 - 4:30 - Shower, Pack; & Rehearsing

5:00 pm – Dinner in Family Room

6:30 pm - Guys Lead Worship

7:30 pm - Leave Better Than You Came!
